Man shot at residence by police
A Richland County deputy Kelly Hendrix shot Richard Lewis Catoe Jr., 38, early this morning at a stand off at Catoe’s residence in north Columbia. S.L.E.D. is investigating the shooting and the Sheriff’s Department maintains Kelly acted in self-defense as Catoe was allegedly lunging at her with a knife.
Children sprayed with chemicals by Lexington company
NaturChem a company based in Lexington S.C, accidentally sprayed several toddlers playing outside a daycare center in Abingdon, Virginia. The company says the spraying was an accident and will pay for the children’s medical bills.

Taking the Cocaine problem tail on
Although it is readily available in any bar bathroom in Columbia, authorities in Sumter are attacking the cocaine problem by accident. 32-year-old Alphonzo Choice, of Wedgefield, was caught with $25,000 worth of coke after being pulled over on Highway 261 for having a taillight out.
Al Gore the Third needs pardon
Little Al was pulled over for speeding earlier this month and got busted with dope and prescription pills. The vice president’s son faces two felony counts of drug possession, two misdemeanor counts of drug possession without a prescription, and one misdemeanor count of marijuana possession. The Gore’s have a high family value, and they had no problem posting the $20,000 bail.
Tammy Faye Messner dies
We will all miss the hypocrisy of televangelist Tammy Faye Messner. Messener was 65 and died on Friday after battling cancer the past several years. Perhaps the mortician will do the best makeup job her face has ever seen.
